Unable to slipstream IE8 into Vista SP2 ISO Image

    Hi friends,
I wanted to slipstream IE8 into a VistaSP2 x64 image and i tried and followed the steps which i got online and was successfully integrated, but whenever i try to burn the files back to the disc the computer won't boot from the new disc.

The steps which i used is:
    1. I downloaded VistaSP2 x64 ISO image from a website.
    2. Then used 7-Zip and unpacked the ISO image
    3. After that i downloaded IE8 x64 and then unpack using 7-Zip
    4. Followed the Microsoft directions to integrate it using the Windows Automated Installation Kit
    5. It was successfully integrated

But the problem remains, please Help me.

I think you need to try to burn it at a really slow speed because I have seen that the ISO's don't seem to be boot well when you try to boot it, unless you burn them slow. I had several different technical support to the people tell me the same. I make a lot of dvd's and I burn them at a slow speed and I haven't faced any of the problems since I have started burning at slow speeds.

After seeing your post I thought that the SP2 comes with the IE8 in it. You can try using the "nLite". Also you can see that its not booting because you have just dragged the files on to your disk. As you can see that there is a boot sector from the original DVD which you need to be burnt also that is not viewable with the use of just windows explorer. Hope you get my point and tyr to implement it.

I think it the problem of the boot sector by which you are getting the problem and your are not able to burn the cd or dvd which is the main problem. I think you neeed to extract that all and also i think the sp2 of the windows vista does include the Internet Explorer8. So if you want then you can check it out the boot sector of your system and the software and try it one more time.

It is more likely that the boot sector of the disc needs to be added to the burning program somehow becuuse it is important and it can help your to solve your problem. But I can say that with the above suggestion and you can use the "vLite" which is to do the slipstreaming and burning because it will be automatically including the boot reason of the disc. I know about the nLite does, but I am also sure by the vLite that has the same feature.

idea Slipstreaming IE8 into Vista Using Vlite - Proven Method

Slipstream Internet Explorer 8 into Windows Vista:

    1) Copy the Widnows Vista setup files to your hard drive.
    2) Download IE8 for Vista
    3) Download 7-Zip
    4) Using 7-Zip, extract the files out of the IE8 setup file. (You should be able to simply right click on the IE8 Setup icon and then click 'Extract').
    5) Download Vlite 1.2
    6) Open Vlite. Select the folder which contains the Windows Vista setup files. Click 'Next'. Check the box next to 'Integration'. Click 'Next'. Check the box to enable hotfix integration. Click on 'Insert' and go to the extracted files of the IE8 Setup. Choose the file 'IE8.MSU'. Click 'Apply' and you're done ! (Integration itself can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours.).
