    Linux Containers Tools

    Hi all,

Containers can provide lightweight virtualization to isolate processes and resources, and does not need to explain mechanisms to provide instruction and all the other virtualization complexity. So I want to know that the container tools Linux? How to set up and use them. Thanks in advance.

Container will be a single operating system to effectively manage the resources assigned to an isolated group, to better balance between the groups in the isolated use of resources in conflict with the demand. Compared with virtualization, it is neither necessary instruction-level simulation and does not need time compilation. Containers can be run locally in the core CPU instructions, without any specific explanation mechanism. In addition, to avoid the quasi-virtualization and system call replaces the complexity. Check and reply.

LXC Linux kernel project consists of a patch and some userspace tools for composition. The userspace tools used by the kernel patch added new features to provide a simplified tool to maintain the container. Before using the LXC first need to download the Linux kernel source code, apply the appropriate LXC patch, then build, install and start it. Finally, download, build and install LXC tool. All the best.

I use a patched Linux 2.6.27 kernel. While the 2.6.27 Linux kernel lxc patch may not apply to you like the release version of the kernel source code, but after the Linux version 2.6.27 may already contain most of the functionality provided by the patch. Therefore, we strongly recommend using the latest patches and the mainstream kernel source code. And, in addition to download the kernel source code and add the patch, but also you can use get access. check and reply.

In order to manage the network interface in the container need 2.6.26 or later of the iproute2 package. If your Linux distributions do not have this package, please download and follow the instructions to configure and install it. Many useful containers another key part of network access. At present, the bridge (connects multiple Ethernet segments, making them a separate Ethernet segment) is a container the best way to connect to the network. To prepare for use LXC, we will create a bridge, and use it to our real network interface and network interface to connect the container. Check and reply.
