    List of commands for command prompt

    Hi friends,

    I have one query to ask you about the commands. I want to be aware about the various commands used for the command prompt. If you know any commands of command Prompt then please let me know with it's detailed information. I know only few command so I want to increase my knowledge about the commands of command Prompt. I would greatly appreciate your any help over this.

    commands for command prompt:
    • CD: This command is used display current directory or to modify directory .
    • CHKDSK: This command is used to checks disk.
    • CLS: This command is used to clear the screen.
    • COPY: This command is used to copy one or multiple files.
    • ERASE: This command is used to delete one or multiple files.
    • FTYPE: This command is used to modify or displays file types.

    Hi friend,

    I am ware about the following some command which are used over the command prompt:
    1. PRINT (Used to prints a text file)
    2. REN (Used to renames one file or multiple files)
    3. PATH (Used to displays or sets the search path for executable files)
    4. PING (Used to displays connection information of another machine)
    5. MKDIR (Used to creates a directory)
    6. MAKECAB (Used to creates file .CAB)

    *COLOR: It Changes the color of the background & the foreground of the console.
    * DNSCMD: It Creates a new DNS zone.
    * CHKNTFS: It Checks if a volume is FAT32, NTFS or FAT.
    * DATE: It changes or displays the date.
    * DIR: It displays a list of sub directories in a directory.
    * DEL: It deletes one or multiple files.
    * FOR: It runs a command over each file from the filegroup.

    Hi,

    There are number of command prompt commands are available. Most of these commands are rarely used. 'EXIT' command is used to close the command shell. 'FC' commands is used to two files and display it's difference. 'IF' command performs the processing of batch file over particular condition. 'FIND' command of command prompt is used to search specific string in multiple files. 'VOL' command used show the seriwl number and name of the volume.

    Refer below some commands of command prompt:
    1. echo:-To display a message
    2. move:- To move files
    3. pathping:- To provides details regarding the network performance
    4. powercfg:- To manage power settings
    5. shutdown:- To Shutdown system
    6. taskkill:- To end task
    7. tasklist:-To displays applications list

    Here are some command prompt commands:
    • assign: It redirects disk operations requests from one drive to a another drive.
    • append:It shows the search path of files
    • Call: It calls single batch of program.
    • chkdsk: It Verifies the volume of storage.
    • attrib: It changes attributes of files
    • cls:It clears the DOS screen.
