BootMNGR missing in Windows 7 !?!

I had a perfectly working Lenovo sunrise 410 laptop with Windows XP installed on it. Recently i tried to install Windows 7 to it from a CD. I followed all the usual steps of installation which were prompted. When the installation was completed halfway it gave an error and the installation stopped. Then i tried to restart my pc but it gave an error of BOOTMNGR is missing. I tried several times to boot from CD as well but it gives the same error. Please help

The installation of Windows 7 has gone far enough so it is trying to boot from the hard drive. As it has stopped for some reason there is a possibility that it must have met some incompatibility with your system. Try booting the system from boot disk of earlier versions of windows (xp or Vista) and install the windows. After installation try and upgrade to windows 7 again.

Check if the requirements of windows 7 are met by your computer and proceed to install it. Windows 7 requirements are as follows 1) Ram required 1 gb for 32 bit and 2 gb ram for 64 bit. 2)16 gb minimum hard drive space. Also it requires a updated graphics adaptor to meets its graphic requirement. So if your system meets the requirement then try to install it again or switch to earlier version which is supported by your system.

The CD/DVD from which you are trying to install windows 7 must be corrupt which must have aborted the installation process mid way. Try installing the windows from another disk and check if the installation gets complete. The installation must have aborted as your system was not able to read any data from the CD/DVD you are using for installation. Using another disk to install will solve the problem.

If you are not able to boot the windows with the dvd then you can try repairing with command prompt. You just need to enter the following command and the windows will get repaired if the issue is resolvable. "bootrec /fixboot" enter this command in command prompt and the repair procedure will start and when it is finished the pc will reboot. Note that this command will only fix the boot options only. If the windows still wont boot , formatting and installing a fresh copy of windows will only help.
