    Backups failing in Windows 7(0x81000037)

I have installed Windows 7 on my system. I am not able to take the backups. Whenever I try to backup I get an error stating that :

"Windows Backup failed while trying to read from the shadow copy on one of the volumes being backed up. Please check in the event logs for any relevant errors". The error code is 0x81000037.

I have tried to backup from the various path but I cannot figure out the exact issue. Does anyone know how to encounter this.??

I was facing the same issue. When I try to search some solution for that I came across some notes provided by Microsoft. In that they have mentioned that to get rid of this problem, remove the reparse point from the library and then run the Backup wizard again. You should select the absolute path to backup content for this reparse point which will be located in Windows Backup. This thing worked for me. Hope this can sort your problem too.

Removing the Reparse point from the library is only the solution for your backup error. You can also perform a scan on your computer. Even after scanning, this problem persist then you have to remove the Reparse point. There are some issues of backups in Windows 7. You can find more information on Microsoft sites.

Before removing the Reparse point try to take the back up by stopping the Anti virus, SQL , etc. Many times the anti virus causes the issues. So stop the running processes and then take the backups. I know there is very less chance for success but before removing the reparse point from the library you should try this once. If you are not able to take backups even after stopping the process, then there is only way by removing the Reparse point.
