For installing Mac OSX Leopard you will need a image .dmg of Leopard also an external hard drive more than 6.4 GB and Disk Utility ,format usb with Disk Utility, Afterwords, select external drive and then click the Restore tab. Then provide source drag in Mac OS X Install DVD.dmg and be sure destination is the external hard drive. When all ok hit Restore. Now to to install Leopard, open System Preferences > Startup Disk > select the drive > restored Leopard and then restart and follow instructions.

Make sure you have proper installation file do not use pirated copy that is downloaded form torrent or p2p , that can be cause for installation failure i had such kind of problem while installing windows 7 from external hard drive where that problem was due to corrupt installation files .now you cannot install Mac OS X Leopard on a UFS-formatted volume. In addition, you cannot upgrade older versions of Mac OS X installed on UFS-formatted volumes to Leopard. To upgrade to Leopard you need to reformat your startup volume. Before you do that, you need to back up your information check here
