I have faced this problem twice recently. I have tried to use the telephone activation option to change the product key to the correct product key and it won't accept it. It basically won't update it. It says that I must have mis-typed. I am taking the product key from the sticker on the PC. I have done this before and it's never been an issue, however, this has happened twice in a row with XP Pro and Home. I have contacted Microsoft, the first lady was helpful and did all she could and the second lady said to call HP. The PC is out of warranty and HP would charge.
Am I making an abvious mistake that I am not aware of?
Can anyone advise.
