Problem with XAMPP in Linux Mint

    Hello,

To locally test the web page that I'm writing, some months ago I installed Xampp version 1.7.0 on my Debian Lenny

Indeed, it is-not-be-easier to install (in fact, it does not install: you have to just unzip the archive into /folder) and I can see MyPage with my browser to see what it really looks like and work effectively (Web page that uses XHTML, PHP, CSS and Java scripts).

but Now Having recently added Linux Mint 7 on my PC, I downloaded and installed the current version of XAMPP (1.7.2) , but to my amazement ,with it I Cannot view my page (error 404!) and this should probably not be a problem since no upgrade installation of Xampp had been installed on Linux Mint before. can you tell me what could be the problem and how can i solve it thanks in advance

I dont Think it is that Much Difficult to install , just follow this and it is really simple

After downloading simply type in the following commands:

Go to a Linux shell and login as the system administrator root:
    su

Extract the downloaded archive file to /opt:

    tar xvfz xampp-linux-1.7.2.tar.gz -C /opt

Warning: Please use only this command to install XAMPP. DON'T use any Microsoft Windows tools to extract the archive, it won't work.

Warning 2: already installed XAMPP versions get overwritten by this command.

That's all. XAMPP is now installed below the /opt/lampp directory.
