    Mac OS X Command Mode Only

    Hello Pals, I just got a Mac as a gift from my brother who just came back from the US. I dont understand how to use Mac and i would not like to sell it off as its a gift. Is it possible to build a file/web server for a Local Area Network on this mac and is it possible to run Mac OS X Command Mode Only Once it is configured? Please help... Thanks!

    You can purchase a license of Mac OS X Server and get the DVD and install it on your Mac. But as you don't know how to operate mac, that wouldn't help you. Why don't yo search for help online. There are lot of free ebooks that will help you. And also you can contact Apple for help...

    If you are familiar with command line utilities of unix, you will have no problem in operating Mac. Mac OS is built around the unix shell, you do all the working in the command line from the application known as Terminal.app in Mac OS, which will be available from Finder > Utilities > Terminal. Mac is a awesome piece of machine and its costly too, don't let it go in vain... Hope this helps...

    If you don't wnat to use Mac, then you can do this : Use the same hardware and download your favorite Linux distribution. Install it on Mac and then you can do whatever you want on it. Also you can install Windows on it by using bootcamp, so just don't waste that Mac...
