Antivirus using resources, etc. Media Center eventually becomes unusable. You would have to register the services with Windows and set them to start-up if you want it to work. To utilize the full strength of your hardware ensure you install the latest drivers for both graphics and audio hardware.

Media Center also is DirectX reliant, make sure you run the latest DirectX runtime distribution as well once you get the services running and the EXEs regi. Even if your machine's hardware supports virtualization it is most likely not going to be enabled by default. You have to enable it via your BIOS setup.

Ensure you have proper drivers for your audio hardware. Remember you need a Hyper-V enabled Windows 2008 licence and also your hardware has to support virtualization. You just need to follow the below steps mention.

    1. First of all you need to run MCE from Vista.bat on your machine.
    2. Then you need to copy C:\MCE from your Windows Vista to C:\MCE on server 2008
    3. Afterwards, try to run MCE to Server 2008.bat (or you can copy all files in C:\MCE to C:\)
    4. Finally you need to run Media Center - Add.reg
