Installing Cinerella Video Editing Software

Hello friends, i am trying to learn video editing so need to install cinerella, can anyone guide me how to install it and from where to download the packages for ubuntu 9.04. Please help guys. i have no idea on Installing Cinerella Video Editing Software. Thanks in advance...

Open terminal and type :

deb http://akirad.cinelerra.org akirad-jaunty main | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/akirad.list && wget -q http://akirad.cinelerra.org/dists/akirad.key -O- | sudo apt-key add - && sudo apt-get update

It will ask for your root password, type your root password and press Enter Now in terminal type :

sudo apt-get install cinelerra

and have fun...

Thanks for replying to my question. I don't want to install it that way. I have already downloaded Cinerella package and its a file which has two extensions : tar.bz2 and i have no idea on how to install this. Is it a valid file? I'm confused as all the files on the cinerella's website has this file format. I hope someone could help me out... Thanks in advance...

It is an archive file in my opinion. Copy the folder from the archive to your desktop and open terminal. Now browse to the folder where you extracted cinerella, go into the folder and type :

sudo ./configure

Then type i your password if asked then type :

sudo make install

Then finally type :

sudo install

The file you have is a source file which need to be compiled and then installed...
