I'm running Windows XP. When I boot, Xp doesn't load all the way. The desktop icons all have that blue box around the labels, not the see through effect to the wallpaper, the programs that are supposed to load automatically on booting don't load, and there's nothing in the Notification Area except the volume icon. Ordinarily there would be a bunch of stuff there. And now nothing launches. If I try to start Firefox or anything, even notepad or anything, a window pops up, filled with black, titled C:\Documents and Settings\(etc.), that only stays for about half a second and then goes away. I can't launch Windows Media Player or an antivirus program or anything. I've tried to boot into safe mode, but it won't do that. I can't go to Start>Run>cmd, the cmd box only stays for about half a second and then vanishes like all the others. I can't run a registry cleaner, I can't run anything. I have the XP install disc. Any suggestions?
