Hello Good morning,
I have installed a 1 GB stick of RAM in my Dimension 4500. Which I'ave done by taking the CR battery out and now it reluctant to boot. I get three beeps and then nothing. No output to the monitor and no detection of the keyboard.I have done what I know to resolve the issue but to no avail..am still at loss..so guys nay one here to help me out.

My guess is that the trouble maker in your case isthe ram. If your messed around with it or changed ram around it is possible you didnt put it back in right. open the case back up and push down on the ram to make sure it has clicked it properly. Usualy beeps and a plank screen means ram, so give that a try. If that doesnt work try reseting you bios back to defaults. Use the MB manual to find wich jumper to short out and follow the instructions in the manual.
This fatal Beeps are indication of Bios error codes. My computer gave me beeps.I should tell to the boot menu rather than let it go through the default ordering by pressing F12 to tell it you want to go.Does this Dell have the four small lights on the back ( status indicator ) ? , these will be amber during post etc, but should all be green by the time the OS is loading.Get them to look in the Bios for the Halt On Errors setting and set it to halt on any error, if it is a Bios issue of some kind, this may give a message as to the cause, might even be something silly like the boot order etc.

Dude,your computer can only manage 512MB per slot max for a total of 1GB maximum.a 1GB stick per slot will not so the computer thinks it has bad RAM, that's why you get 3 beeps during the start up
