I have windows ME installed on my old computer. I am thinking of partition and dual booting windows ME and Windows XP on the same computer. Can anyone help me on this?

You are required to install different operating system on different partitions. Install windows me first. You can also put different operating system on the same drive. You need win2k for that and then you can upgrade it with windows XP.
Follow the steps given below to install windows me and xp on your computer:
After this is done your computer will restart and ask for the format of drive in which you want to install windows XP. Just follow the steps and you are done!
- Create two partitions on your drive
- First install windows ME
- Then insert the XP cd
- And click on install
- Select new installation from given two options
- Then click Advanced tab
- Select "I will specify the drive"
Sometimes it gets complicated when you install different OS on same system. Partitioning is must and you can do it with latest XP disk using the modern version of Fdisk. You can check some existing threads on dual boot:
