Windows 7 Beta Or Vista SP1

I am using Windows Xp since long time so i am not much aware Windows 7 and Vista. But one of my friend who is still a student wanted to know which one is better in SSD performance, and this is regarding his studies. Do you guys have any suggestion for Windows 7 Beta Versus Windows Vista SP1 in SSD Comparison ?

Windows 7 is undoubtedly the most exciting new operating system to come out of Microsoft within the past decade and with good reason. The topic of SSDs itself is rather interesting, but when you team up the increasingly popular flash memory technology with Microsoft's next operating system, Windows 7, things move up to the next notch on the excitement level. And on the same way windows Vista Service Pack 1 is an update to Windows Vista that addresses feedback from the customers.

In addition to previously released updates, SP1 contains changes focused on addressing specific reliability and performance issues, supporting new types of hardware, and adding support for several emerging standards. Windows Vista SP1 also addresses some management, deployment, and support challenges. When you use Windows 7 Beta on the latest storage technology, you just know that things will perform well.

It is very hard to come up with a conclusive test as this is just a beta version of the next OS from Microsoft, but at least we can get inkling in to what we can expect.Access time is very impressive when using Windows 7 beta on an SSD, and the CPU does not work as hard on W7 as it does with Vista. You also don't need to install any new drivers on Windows 7 beta, it just run with what is built-in, so it is a good raw look at things currently as they stand.

As with any new operating system version, there are many questions with regard to how it will perform a variety of hardware configurations, one of the more interesting to drive performance concerns be had. One of Windows Vista's sins, in our opinion, was that the operating system was constantly thrashing the system's hard disk. Or tried for any kind of smart in the memory by giving or index-linked files for the search, was never as the operating system would settle down. When it comes to RAID 0 performance we can see that the ICH9R controller struggles to support the SSD drives properly, since it was designed for slower mechanical hard disk drives. Microsoft would eventually release an update to their disk caching algorithms embedded within Windows Vista Service Pack 1, which dramatically helped performance and snappiness of the operating system.

One of the most important thing notice on Windows 7 "is light" the operating system feels. It 's quick to load up, it brings a lot of time not even whip the hard drive you are inside the interface, and your hard drive quickly settles down and lets you start working. It feels faster, because of this fact, and as such, the full data on Windows 7 experience enjoyable. All users of those low-end netbooks to use high-end workstations will immediately Microsoft 'benefit; s new, more lightweight algorithms of the disk usage. As the official launch of W7 draws closer, we will see actual Windows 7 drivers released and they should improve performance, as well as other changes Microsoft make under the hood of its OS.
