Problem opening .dmg files in Mac OS X

Hi,

I am having problem opening the .dmg files in firefox mac OS X operating system.
Can anyone help me with this problem. Do I need any tool or tweak for this?

I think you need to download a latest version of stuffit expander.
You can download it from stuffit.com this will solve your problem.
I think this has to be a problem related to your update.

Click on a .dmg file
- in the Finder go to File
- get info
- in the pop-up menu
- go to open with and choose DiskImageMounter
- make your .dmg default application.
Or

sudo hdiutil attach file name.dmg

name.dmg ==> full path and filename of your DMG file.

Firefox for Macintosh OS X may not download DMG (Macintosh Disk Image) files so you can easily open them. When you double-click a DMG file after downloading it with Firefox, it tries to open with a program called "HexEdit". You can mount and open this kind of DMG file if you know the "trick"

Firefox sees the DMG as a generic binary file, but it doesn't necessarily know what application to open it with, and it might need a little help.

1. Right-Click, or Control + Click on the DMG file, once it is fully downloaded.
2. Choose the "Open With" menu item, then "DiskImageMounter"

You should boot from the OS X Install CD/DVD (insert the CD/DVD, restart your Mac, then hold down the C key after you hear the chime) and then do an "archive & install"
