    Re: Reinstall Windows Update Service

    To force the install, download WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe and run the following command;
    "WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe /wuforce"

    To install WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe silently run the following command;
    "WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe /wuforce /quiet"

    To install WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe silently without restart, run the following command;
    "WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe /wuforce /quiet /norestart"

    Re: Reinstall Windows Update Service

    1) Download http://update.microsoft.com/redist/wuredist.cab From the Microsoft site.

    2) Open the CAB file and you will find a wuredist.xml . Open the file in Notepad or more. Lines wuld look like those below
    <? xml version = "1.0"?>
    <WURedist>
    <StandaloneRedist Version="30">
    <architecture name="x86" clientVersion="7.0.6000.381" downloadUrl="http://download.windowsupdate.com/WindowsUpdate/redist/standalone/7.0.6000.381/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe"/>
    <architecture name="x64" clientVersion="7.0.6000.381" downloadUrl="http://download.windowsupdate.com/WindowsUpdate/redist/standalone/7.0.6000.381/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x64.exe"/>
    <architecture name="ia64" clientVersion="7.0.6000.381" downloadUrl="http://download.windowsupdate.com/WindowsUpdate/redist/standalone/7.0.6000.381/WindowsUpdateAgent30-ia64.exe"/>
    <MUAuthCab RevisionId="6" DownloadURL="http://download.windowsupdate.com/v7/windowsupdate/redist/standalone/MUAuth.cab"/>
    </ StandaloneRedist>
    </ WURedist>
    3) Check the DownloadURL attribute (depending on your OS architecture x86, x64, ia64) for the download url where you can get the file to download. Say 32-bit x86 platform would http://download.windowsupdate.com/Wi...gent30-x86.exe download url

    4) Download and you're done. Install it as you would any other software. The downloaded version would be the latest of which works very well for the requirement for 5.8.02469 or later
