tnslsnr.exe application Error

After installing windows xp on my system i have noticed that tnslsnr.exe file always run in background as application, I have tried to stop that process by task manager > end task but no fix. When i open any application it says tnslsnr.exe encountered a problem and needed to close. Can anyone help!!!

File TNSLSNR.exe is located in a subfolder of "C:\Program Files" or sometimes in a subfolder of "C:\Documents and Settings".tnslsnr.exe - tnslsnr.exe allows users connect to a oracle database. listener.ora (and tnsnames.ora) are the files which may need to be inspected in case the error comes always when the TNS Listener is started.
