    How do I find specific text from a file in Linux

    How do i file for a specific text that is contained in multiple files? I have around 20 files with some changes and different file names but the starting portion is same, but i forgot where i saved them. I have one file on the Desktop and i can use the text from it to search. Help Guy!

    You can do that by using the grep command.

    example :
    Code:
    grep computer *.txt
    This will search for the word 'computer' from all the 'txt' files in current location. All the best...
