    Hi,
I cannot start my computer. When i try to start mt PC, on every startup it says: windows must be activated. If i click yes, it says windows is all ready activated, click OK to exit. When i click OK, it gets me again on 'windows must be activated'. Anyone have any idea? How can i fix thid?

    Thank you for all suggestions.

    Re: XP must be activated

You can activate your copy of Windows XP by using any one of the following methods:
    • Activate Windows XP by using the Internet
    • Activate Windows XP by using your modem
    • Activate Windows XP by phone

From internet the Windows Product Activation wizard establishes a connection to the activation server, sends your installation ID, and then processes the activation request.

If you have a modem but you do not have an Internet connection, the wizard detects your modem and establishes a connection to the activation server through your phone line.

You can also activate Windows XP by calling a Microsoft customer service representative. The Activation Wizard displays the toll free number that you can dial.

You can contact Microsoft. And purchase a full COA which will allow you to reactivate your copy of XP. You can also use the Ultimate Boot CD, or one of the Live Linux to copy your files to a CD.

    Re: XP must be activated

Only one time or single use of windows XP installation on one machine is allowed by Microsoft. Upgrades of windows can be done by automatically over the Internet or telephone. New hardware with XP pre-installed doesn't require activation and should never require reactivation, even if significant changes are made to the hardware configuration.
