Rundll does not work anymore

Hi,
I have windows vista running on my desktop computer. I am facing big problem with opening any program. When i try to open any program i get the following error: "Rundll does not work anymore". What is Rundll? and how to fix it?

This error can arise because a DLL file has been infected by a virus or is missing on the system due to a spyware. You have to update your antivirus and run scan for all the drives. Also run some good anti-spyware applications.

Rundll is part of windows and used to run DLLs as programs. Ig it gets affected by virus or corrupted. It stops or block the programs from opening. Many viruses also use this name or similar names. So remove all infections from your system. And try opening the programs again.

Rundll32.exe is used internally by Windows for a variety of DLL functions not exposed to the PC user but there are a number of DLLs that contain entry points available for external use. You can try to fix it with registry edit. But don't forget to take backup before doing anything with registry. Follow these steps:

• Click on Start
• Then Type regedit in the box
• Press Enter to open Registry Editor
• In Registry Editor browse following key:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

• Right click and delete SOUNDMAN key
• Restart your system
