Check your power saving settings, try disabling them while you do a scan, or it Could be bad memory or a hard drive that is going bad. also close any other program that may be running in the background.

    hi,
start process of elimination run msconfig in cmd and then go to startup disable all and save then reboot,if it still fails try system restore if you can or you may need to uninstall mouse and keyboard software and then delete the keyboard and then mouse from the device manager, but I guess a reformat will have done the same.did you change hardware?

Eliminate the context-menu handler from the registry, or disable it temporarily using ShellExView tool.

Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT. Navigate to:

    HKCR \ * \ shellex \ ContextMenuHandlers \ EncodeDivXExt

Backup the key to a REG file, and delete EncodeDivXExt key.

Close Registry Editor and restart Windows.
