Installation of Service Pack 2 RC will result in Microsoft collecting information about the installation process, even if the installation is not completed. We do not recommend installing this software on primary or mission-critical systems. Take the backup of your data before you install any prerelease software.
Service Pack 1 is a prerequisite for installing Service Pack 2. Please make sure that your system is running Service Pack 1 before you install Service Pack 2.

A confidential source has revealed that Microsoft will deliver a Release Candidate in February, 2009 with the final SP2 binary scheduled for RTM (Release To Manufacturing) in April, 2009.
As always, do remember that when Microsoft announces that a product is RTM, it doesn't mean you will be able to download it right away. RTM merely means it is "released to manufacturing", including OEMs. Actual public release will be sometime later. Release to web (RTW) will also occur sometime after RTM.
Windows Vista SP2 is a matter of too little too late and won't prevent companies, big and small, from postponing upgrades until Windows 7 is released. Incidentally, Windows 7 might not be a good news for system builders since it will be less resource hungry than its predecessors.
I’ve just bought vista and already im trying to get rid of it. Nearly every game i download doesn’t work and many of the ones such as battlefield 2 rarely work either. If anyone knows where i can find a good guide to swap to XP on a compaq presario 5065 could you please let me know as im sick of all the bugs and would like at least one game i try to work.
Vista is a really disappointment. On the other hand you can get many games to work by a simple step. Right click on the game icon and choose properties. Then go to the compatibility tab. Check the boxes Run as admin. and run program in XP mode! This works for some games. Also there are patches out there! Yes, a pain, I agree. It is the only way that I know of for now….
