WEI in Windows 7
I have put Windows 7 on my Asus F3 and I get a WEI score of 1.0, which I thought strange since I have one at 3.0 when I had vista! Now it must be said that I did not install the drivers which are on the CD that was in the computer, as my CD drive does not work optimally. My question is about the drivers only which can settle the score?
And then just to see if there is a smart way to update its drivers, when you can not use the CD? I have a need to find the right itself

Re: WEI in Windows 7
You can try to slip in here:
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx
and select:
notebooks
F3 series
and then your model and then there should be drivers. But is probably not just a Windows 7, but enough for Vista, if it is a fairly new laptop.
And I suppose a particular graphics card drivers can do much to score, or often just a loader standard vga driver into that function, but not optimized.

Re: WEI in Windows 7
Also remember that WEI has been modified and will run higher than the 5.9 which is max in Vista. Drivers, of course something to do with it too. However, your hardware will not be later on the grounds.

Re: WEI in Windows 7
WIE benchmark surely not? Therefore, well just look at what hardware is in the machine. My logic tells me that if the drivers are not installed, there is likelihood that Windows does not recognize the mission of your hardware and the part is therefore not included in the score. But this is pure guesswork.

Re: WEI in Windows 7
Remember also that benchmarks WEI on the hard drive now will have some computers to be low because it is using the lower figure. Portable as your hard drives are typically not particularly amazing, and it reflected in the WEI score.
They have changed benchmark code to disk in Win7's WEI. It was shown some signs that asked questions about the test, but that is still in beta stage, so no wonder they are looking at it continually.
