I intend to buy a new PC (but for many reasons) I keep my current OS, namely, Win2000 Pro.
The config is envisaged style AMD phenom x3 II, motherboard Nvidia chipset, and graphics card 9400 GT. Usage is pro (no games ...).
I am not here to discuss the appropriateness of 2000 or my material choice but whether I will be able to install correctly in 2000 on this type of config. Only drivers, no "utility" where supplied (excluding economy may be energy).
If I find sites of manufacturers, they still provide many driver for 2000 but not necessarily for all parts of motherboard. This does necessarily mean that this part will not be installed or is it possible that the XP drivers work in 2000?
You tell me that the simplest solution might be to test but if I can not stay in 2000 I probably choose to make a small update day of my current config rather than investing in new machinery.
