System Hanging at Startup

I am a XP user. Whenever i start my computer,, it freezes for 3 to 4 minutes.

I cant even access the Start button or the Taskbar. Why it happens ? How can i make it correct ?

Dont worry. Its a minor problem. it may be due to one specific service (Background Intelligent Transfer) running in the background. Microsoft put out a patch for this but it didn't work for me.

To correct it just go through this simple steps:-

1. Click on Start/Run, type 'msconfig', then click 'OK'.
   
   
2. Go to the 'Services' tab, find the 'Background Intelligent Transfer' service.
   
   
3. Disable it, apply the changes and restart your system..

Thanks for the help man... i tried it and it wors. now pc does not gets hanged...
