How do i delete write protected files

Hey Friends,

There are many write protected files on my system which are full of viruses. I would like to delete these files in order to keep my system free from viruses. So, can any one tell me that how do i delete my write protected files from my system? Does any body have any idea how can i do so? Any information on this would be appreciated.

Right click on the file. Click properties. See if the read-only attribute is set. If it is, clear it. Then Delete it.

To delete or remove a file you need to be owner of a file. Use ls -l command to verify your ownership. If you have sufficient rights, you can remove a file. Otherwise, become a superuser to remove a file.

You probably can't delete it because windows is using it. if you know the name of the .exe file press ctrl+alt+del and find it in the list in task manager then click end task. Then try to delete it again.
