Vista boots but does not start

I have a more or less serious problem ... I forgot my power supply and housing swap,I wanted the computer back into operation and everything seemed to run normally, the PC recognizes the Hard Drive, Vista will boot normally (Windows is loaded), then appears a black screen where only the mouse pointer is visible, it can also moving (also normal). The desktop is not loaded ..... Much more detail the problem you can not describe it, because that's the principle. The screen remains black, the mouse pointer is visible but no icons ect .... I have repeatedly tried, of course, once the desktop was even loaded (took 30 minutes), the PC response but not anymore ....

    hi,
The BIOS needs to check the main hardware at startup. It may be having problems with say, the graphics adapter or RAM. Have you tried changing the RAM modules in the slots? You can try taking the modules out altogether and then start up, it should give error beeps. When you put the RAM modules back in, it may start working. To test the graphics, you need to try another graphics card.

Open power options again and click "choose when to turn off the display".The display could be set to turn off while it is plugged in and on battery at a certain time.

Then check whether your SATA cable is fine, or close the drive on another port on your motherboard to. Since you've already said that the same phenomenon in another hard disk occurs, I can not exclude that your motherboard is defective.

So it does nothing, neither with Windows DVD, even with other cable or SATA slot. Safe Mode does not go and "Last Known Konifguration" does not, the screen stays black So what will probably be broken,The question now is what and why .... Mainboard most likely, but it works easily bios, etc. ..

I would just be a defect of your motherboards. Otherwise, you can use a diagnostic tool via boot disc to run, to ensure that your hard disk by a defect is concerned.

If the post boot up is not displaying any errors then try running your windows disk and try a repair.
Or check your video card, make sure its in its slot properly and cables etc.+ your screen cable.
If you have video overlay running to your tv try unplugging that and try to boot especially if your using vista.
If none of that works get your bios to run a memory check then check post (boot up)for errors. If your hard drives are displayed during boot up then forget your sata cables thats not the problem.
check all your screen settings from the screen buttons it sounds like your only displaying black and white. Try right clicking on the black screen and see if you get any options.
