    Is NTFS occupied more space than FAT ?

    Hi friends can anyone give answers to my question Is “NTFS occupied more space than FAT ?“.Please give your Views.Thanks in advance to all the replies.

    NO

    1. FAT is especially for MS-DOS and Windows 95/98 as default, whereas NTFS is inherited from Windows NT4 as default.
    2. NTFS is the default file system of Windows XP and Vista.

    NTFS is much more effective as well. It runs better than FAT free space, and better optimizes file management.

    If you take two equal partition in FAT and NTFS and try to copy some data.
    you will see that NFTS take less size on Disk as compared to FAT.
