wuauclt.exe stopped on Vista computer

I am facing some serious problems with my computer!

When I start Windows Vista, a window "has wuauclt.exe cease to function" does not appear. This continues for hours and even in the closing them recurring. It says that it will close the program and make the solution for this.

Finally appears a new window telling me that there was a problem in Windows. The software created by Microsoft Corporation is unable to provide me the solution. It returns me a web page explaining me how to update the software.

The main problem is that my screen is black! If someone could help me then I would be very thankful of him!

Did you tried Safe Mode with Networking support?

Yes, I did that and got the large icons which feels as if I am using Windows 98. No connection to the Internet.

Did you scanned your computer? I use Malwarebytes for scanning my PC with Anti-malware. It serves a good solution.

Hi Halina, Couple of q's, the updates your trying to get, are you downloading from the internet or a local server, and also, what type of network connection do you have on your pc, most should work in safe mode however wireless probably wont.
