Unable to change folder names

Hi,
I am using Windows XP i am Facing strange problem i can't change the Folder names but i can change file names. Any help/idea why this happening?

In which location you are trying to rename the folder in drive root,documents folder or at dektop?

What type of account you have Administrator or limited? please specify more clearly.

Thanks for your reply I am the Administrator on the Computer and i am renaming folders on Desktop. Am i doing anything wrong?

If you are viewing or editing files from within the folder, you can't rename
it. For example, If you are playing a MP3 file form the folder and if you'll try to rename that folder then windows won't allow you.
Or check The Task Manager whether any process is runing from that folder or not if so then END those process and then try to rename the folder.
