List different vendors of ERP software ?

I had just written in this forum a few days back about the ERP implementation. I had got many responses regarding the phases running in the ERP implementation in an enterprise. I was told to hire a consult , but before I start spending money on them , I just wanted to know briefly about the sellers or vendors of these ERP systems. Please give your suggestions as you already know this implementation require a huge amount of investment, so I cannot run as horses and take any decision in hurry , you can give your feedback on the various vendors of the ERP systems ?

Yes , you should not take any such decision in hurry, this tasks are very critical and needs a lots of survey . Let me inform you that the implementation process takes at least one and a half year to complete and even the pre implementation takes at least 6 months , so you have ample time to do a survey on different vendors and choose the best one that fits your enterprise all parameters and mostly the biggest factor i.e cost. The only vendor as far as I know is SAP.

As you already know what does an ERP system is actually meant for, first it was it meant only for the manufacturing enterprise, but now there are no such barriers. The ERP systems are implemented so that there is a continuous flow of information among all the functional department of an organization. Not a single module is left alone. And after these systems are supported the enterprises two way of production , first is make to stick in which the organization sells the product which is already there in the stock, but the available product does not always the clients requirement . On the other hand in the make to order method the product is designed according to client's specification .So first you should learn how is your organization is and it's business and data models.After having a thorough knowledge on it you should take the step of implementation , so that the software you derive from the vendor accommodated both the make to order and make to stock methodologies.

The most prolific advantage of SAP is that it supports multiple language, SAP has widespread it's over all the European, African, United States , Latin America , Asian and subcontinent nations including India . Apart from the manufacturing, the products implemented in SAP are focused on consumer sector, public sector, service sector , financial enterprises and process. It has different portfolios for different enterprises such as Large , midsized and small business. According to the survey being done SAP is the only business software providing company that provides solutions for both service oriented companies and provides a technology platform called NetViewer.

SAp is the King of ERP globally but if you talk about the ERP implementation in India , then I would talk about ESS. ESS stands for Eastern software system is the leading business solution provider in India along with MFGPRO. It was established in Delhi in the year in 1990 to provide solutions for the small enterprises and and mid scale firms which mostly prevailed in the Indian market during that time. The product first launched by this company was ' Makess' built on the Oracle's platform. This name was later on changed as 'ebizframe'. The industries that mostly target this package is Packaging industry , Retail sector, Pharma industries and all that. These company mostly deals with all the modules that are considered in al,ost each and every implementation such as finance, production and planning, marketing, sales, Transport and delivery, human resource etc.
