Composer AR Rahman created history on Monday for India by getting two Oscar awards for his music in Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire
“I want to thank everyone. The essence of the film is optimism and hope. All through my life I had the choice of love and hate…I chose love and I am here,” an elated Rahman said.
Minutes after the award, singer SP Balasubramaniam told CNN-IBN, "I feel as though I have got this award. I know this boy from his childhood and I am really proud of him. The entire country is proud of him. There is a lot everyone can learn from him."
Actor Saurabh Shukla, who also starred in Slumdog said, "You can see it on my face, I am absolutely thrilled. It is an amazing feat for us all."
