PC is infected Trojan horse Generic10.VPD. Help me ...

    Hi,

my system found Trojan horse Generic10.VPD in a download file that has been sitting there for over a year and on my backup drive. I can find no information on the trojan on Norton's site or anywhere else. All I can find are some other folks, all using Norton, who got the same thing on the same at about the same time. They seem to not be able to find out anything about it either.

Does anyone here know anything about it or did anybody get the same report from Norton?

Have you reported it to Norton ?

it could turn out to be a false postive, but unless it's reported they won't update their definitions.

They/it is in the Norton virus vault. I wanted to keep the information on it until I figured out what was going on. I do vaguely remember seeing a porn advert somewhere. Must have picked it up then, I guess. I don't understand how they attach themselves to files. The file that is infected is a zip file. I always keep the zip or setup files of programs that I don't want to lose.

Thanks for answering. I will go ahead and empty the vault.
