After upgrading WLC 4404 to 7.0.98.0 TX Power Levels went low

As using the WLC 4404 recently just upgraded the firmware to 7.0.98.0. as while doing the upgrading didn’t came up with any of the issue the upgrading process ran smoothly. But after upgrading what am I seeing is that the TX power levels went low after upgrading. As before upgradation the power levels were maintaining properly and showed almost between the 1 and 3. But after upgrading the WLC 4404 to 7.0.98.0 it drastically low down to 6 and 8. So I want to know that have anybody got this type of issue after upgradation and what is your TX you are getting it right now.

As after upgradation you have been noticing that the TX power levels went low then for this I would like to know have you checked the external antennas have been correctly set up for each of the access point. As I think due to the incorrect setting of the external antenna you might be getting the low power levels for the TX.

I have tried checking it out with the external antenna and it is placed correctly at the access point but still I’m not able to get the proper TX power supply. So for this is there any other solution that I can check and gain the normal power supply for the TX as I use to get earlier before upgrading. As currently I have manually changed the power supply to 2, so that there is no disturbance in the service. But would like to know the exact reason for the TX power supply of getting low.

Even I had the same issue with the WLC 2106. As after upgrading the firmware it drastically reduced the power supply and there was no way of getting the powers supply changed manually. So after searching for this and not getting the proper solution for raising the power supply I changed back the firmware to the previous version and after which it was working fine. So I think the issue you are facing is the same as I was facing and so for this I would suggest you to roll back your firmware to the previous version and see the speed of the TX power supply. As doing this changed mine and hope same works with your WLC 4404.

According to me upgrading the WLC 4404 to 7.0.98.0 might have changed the Radio Resource Management (RRM) algorithms. So for this I advice to you to see that the "sensitivity" is set to the low, medium or high. And try to change the power levels according to it and see whether you are able to get the high power supply for the TX.
