Files turns into “hidden file” due to some nasty malware

Here is my latest problem with my PC. Actually, I am having some nasty malware in my computer and because of that many of the files in my computer get hidden. I scanned my computer with the Avira antivirus but that was not able to find ant virus in my computer but I am sure that this is because of some nasty malware in my computer. I tried all the way that I know to resolve the problem but it was not able to solve that. Please tell me that what I should do for that.

As you told that you are using the Avira for scanning your computer. I think that it is not updated and that is the reason that it is not able to catch the virus from your computer. So before starting the scan, you should update the database of the Avira to the latest. Once you are done with that then restart the computer and then scan the system. This time, there is more chance that it will catch the malware from your computer and clean that.

There is one software known as the GMER Rootkit Scanner. You can search for this and download that in your computer. After downloading that, you will have to just right click on that and select run as administrator. It may ask you for allowing the gmer.sys driver to get loaded. If it asks for that then please allow that. Scan your system with help of that and see if that can detect any malware form your computer. I prefer this over any other antivirus programs.

You can try one thing that just restart your computer in safe mode and when it started then just open my computer and from there select “Tools” and choose the last Folder option. This will open a small window with many tabs on that. Select the tab for “View” and then select the radio button that says “Show hidden files and folder”. Save these changes and restart you computer in normal XP mode and see if you get the same issue again or not.

It might be the problem with the operating system that you are having on your computer. So if you are not able to get any of the viruses in your computer then you can simply try to repair the system. Just insert the bootable XP CD in that and when it ask you for the type of installation then you will have to select the option as repair and just follow the onscreen instruction from it. This will take some time but might take you out of the issue.

From at what time you are getting this situation? Since this began freshly then you are essentially able to try for the framework restore and that will intention the situation. You will get the utility of framework restore in the framework utilities. Open that and select the date when that was working well. When that, hit the restore catch. It will begin restoring your machine to that date and your situation would be determined. It might request from you the admin watchword. Since it asks that then give the same to move.
