Computer won't connect to internet

I just finished reinstalling windows and before I did this it would connect to WiFi but now there isn't even a wireless network thingy down the bottom. It won't let me connect. Help?

Is it on Desktop or laptop/notebook ? Which operating system are you talking about ? If it is laptop, which brand ?

I guess, you are talking about laptop. If yes, than you have missed the Wireless drivers. Try updating the proper drivers or reply in details.

Its a HP laptop, I'm trying to connect to a D-Link router but not even that wireless thing on the toolbar is there. Is doesn't connect to the net at all. Any ideas on how to install the drivers?

Most probably it is due to the wireless drivers. Did you installed wireless drivers ?? Check it. Also i found the thread with exact problem and same HP laptop. YOu should check it out: Hp pavilion 9000 wireless won't connect

Probably it comes with the CD/DVD you might have got with the system. If it is not than you can download the same from here. Make sure your enter the correct model number for the correct drivers. More info on troubleshooting your wireless stuffs, check out this Article.

No. How could you do it without downloading ? If dont wanna download than get to any hardware shop and ask them for your laptop's driver CD. If you can get any such CD/DVD than there is no need to download.

please check if you have network adapter installed in your pc.
how?.right click my computer icon>select properties>click device manager>click network adapter> then see if you have wireless network card installed in there, if not ask for driver software CD for that.

but if you have one installed in there try to check if notification check box is ticked, how? right click on the taskbar>click properties>on the notification area click customize>select network then select show icon notifications>click ok.that should be it.

and check if you have like ON/OFF button for your wireless,make sure its on.
