For users operating systems MS-DOS, UNIX and VMS ftp program will run from the command line. However, there are other implementations of ftp, such as the Fetch program for computers Macintosh. This program is based on the menu system interface, which itself can tell you how to use it. However, even if the ftp command does not have to enter from the command line, the information in this application will be useful.

On the Internet there are many ways to transfer information c remote computer on a local. FTP servers scattered around the world, but to connect with them does not require knowledge of their physical location. Previously, when access to the Internet had only UNIX -computers, all FTP clients were the same. ow, at the time of window systems, there are many programs
that are known not need to memorize command syntax, and the files are simply dragged the mouse.
