How to change the wireless antenna in TOSHIBA QOSMIO

I have a weird problem in my Toshiba Qosmio at present, the thing is I had dropped the laptop from my bed and it was really bad as most of the part was damaged in it, but I was able to come out of this but only the Antenna port that is present in the laptop has been damaged a lot, I just want to change this, but I am in the confusion do I have to change the part or only the whole motherboard for it. I also have no idea how is the connection that is made in the motherboard for the antenna in it.

I thing that you have to change the motherboard if you want to, but the thing is you have already damaged most of the devices in the laptop, so by using the old device it will be possible that you are using the damaged piece in it, so I would suggest you to go with full replacement of the laptop device as it will cause you more than usual, but it will give you the good performance that you want to get it from it, if you are having some of the warranty period for the laptop then you just hurry for getting the service of the laptop that is present in it.

Hi there, I also had similar kind of the issue in it; I have an Acer Aspire 5920G laptop. It consist of an empty mini Pci-e slot, which is not been used, I have decided to add an internal TV tuner to it. The thing is I don’t know what to do with the antenna which is default present in it. Also in my older laptop which is Aspire 5652WLMi have an integrated media TV tuner and also has a mysterious tv connector in the back side which has come with the adapter in it, so now what to do with this now.

The only thing you have to worry is that your notebook must be possible to connect an antenna in it, because most of the notebook that is present is not able to connect a certain antenna in it, so once you have done with choosing the antenna that you want then just see that you have the slot available in it. Also the adapter that you are worried about is not that big issue, as it is used for connecting the cable that are required in the further stages for viewing the pictures in the laptop, so just relax about the adapter the only thing that you have to worry about is the type of antenna that will be required in the notebook of yours.

While you are looking for an antenna that you have to install in the notebook of yours it is always recommended that you just go with the screening of the signal in your area for the strength of the signal, this is required because based on that the antenna that you will buy will play an important factor in it, so just see that all the signals that are present in it should be intercepted by the antenna in such a way that it should not create any of the low signal interception in the notebook, if the signal is not that good then you can go with the express card TV tuner or you can go with the Aerial socket which will be helping in better aerial signal interceptions.

According to me just keep the antenna thing as simple you can see most of the time you will just do your work in the laptop and if you use the notebook for the live TV or something else then it is possible that you will just drain your battery power in such a way that it will have to charge the battery again and again, so this is a bad idea according to me, just do not go with it so that the notebook that you are using will be safe with respect of your battery life of your notebook.
