LAN connection not working in the new router

Hello friends, I am recently trying to create a small network in my home with the help of a new router that I have recently purchased. All the computers that is been used to connect to the networks are seem to be fine. All the computers went through the process of the manufacturer setup, and all were working fine, but they were not able to connect through the internet. When ever I tried to connect to the internet, it would provide some error and a message would appear saying that in which mode you want to connect to the internet. All the connection in the router is working fine, but no idea how the computers are not connecting to the internet.

Hi there, did you tried connecting to the internet, after the setting of the old modem is been changed. Because of that the compatibility issues appears which may not help you to connect to the internet. Also try to check the connection that you have made for the LAN, I doubt that it mat be the issue that you are suffering. Also try to check all the connection that is used because any of the components that are present in the connection can be the cause of the problem. Once the connectivity is inactive try pinging the connectivity, it will show some values. Based on that values set the connectivity issue in the computers.

I too have the same problem in my internet connections; I had brought a new router it was WRT54G, I ran the installation process from the CD that was provided to me. In one f the step in checks for the connectivity of the internet from the cable, but it is unable to find that. I tried lots of idea but no use, the only way that I can connect to the internet is by disconnecting through the modem and connecting from the modem, this thing only work fine what to do I have no idea.

What are you connecting with the router a desktop or the wireless device, when you connect a wireless device; it should be in such way hat it should meet the specification of the hardware issues. What kind of network interface card are you using, can you provide with all the particular detail for it. Also the issue comes when the workgroup that is given to one of the system, is not been provided to the other system because of that it show compatible issues for connecting to the internet. Also when your device is connected through a USB cable it has a some of the problem, because the lock which is provided to the USB slot must have become loose, due to this the USB port is not been connected to the internet.

Re: LAN connection not working in the new router

What kind of the router it is, is it a physical router with a four port connector to it, or a single port cable modem. This I am asking because this can be the major issue for the no connection in the computer, I too had faced these kind of problems because the ISP was not providing an access to the internet connection to a pc. The main pc which was first connected to the PC, was getting all the packets from the internet but when the new hardware was introduced the network, it was not registered. The main issue here is your new system is not registered with your ISP due to which it is not recognize by them. You can use cloning the MAC address of your old system to the new system to make the new system to work.

Did you try connecting different router that is available with your friends? The main issue can also occur due to this. Sometime when the new router is installed it gets some defect in it due to the incompatible with the network setting. So because of it, shows weird connectivity even if all the connection is been properly connected. The main factor is the NIC card of the system that are been used. To know what kind of the NIC card are you using, try pressing the windows and the pause or break key on the keyboard that will give you the precise information about it.
