Can I install AVG to a single PC

My computer at the office is connected to a server. It's a small company (just4 pcs).

I installed AVG on a single pc (not the server) and when I restarted it is asking me to choose options because it has detected a Network.

I inmediately close it I wanted to remove that antivirus, but it is very very slow. I already installed some other programs, so I know I don't need permission to do that, but the network was detected somehow.

I tried yesterday from the control panel (remove programs) and started to do it but seems that something happened because I did from remote (from home) and it kicked me out, so I don't know if it finished unistalling. I just want to delete that antivirus, what can I do?

AVG detects a network and it gives you the option to make your system more secure. It was just keeping a track of incoming traffic on LAN. Now if are logged in on the server then you need admin rights to remove the antivirus. For that login with the admin account on your system and then go to control panel to remove it. You can also run system restore from Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools and then click on System Tools. In that click system restore and choose date before the date of antivirus installed on your system.

you have no idea how much I appreciate your help. I was so scared that I ruined something in my office. I will do that tomorrow.

So basically, if I wanted to keep the antivirus, would it be ok? I want to remove it because the pc got extremely slow and I did this without consulting it with my boss, so believe me, I would be in big troubles if I don't fix this problem.

You can definitely have the AVG installed for your single PC and let me tell you that you will not at all have any trouble in doing this. If you want to give this a try then let me tell you that you can have the AVG downloaded from the download section here: Download AVG Free. Well this is the trial version get it installed and see if you can have the download. While selecting the Antivirus please make sure that you choose the Antivirus according to the Operating System that you have on your system. Let me know if you were able to have the installation successfully.

AVG is good. you might also consider Microsoft Security Essentials if you are on a Microsoft network (which you most likely are). It might be a little easier for you and a more seamless fit with the network.
