    Apple servers on Windows Network

It looks like, is a server in our increasingly necessary. Currently I have two subnets, one in about eight computers in the second about 6 computers. On all computers running Windows XP Pro SP2. I currently use a hosted Exchange solution, which just leads to high costs of e-mail management and the main reason for a separate server. So I need an Exchange solution or just an alternative to those with which it is possible to share calendars in Outlook 2007 and other employees to pick up the mail without additional components from the e-mail server through Outlook 2007 and send it. Furthermore, should the server be used as a file server? Restrict access to files can be accessed through Windows XP via LAN. And maybe it will even be necessary to have a virtual machine, running in XP to install on the server. Of course, all be secure and also easy to restore. If not the too great cost of a second server that mirrors the first server and in the event of a failure of the first jump in possible. To high licensing costs of Windows server I do not feel like, so I would like to use Apple. Is this all possible with MacOS servers? And MacOS servers can also be administered from a Windows computer remotely from?

You will not get around to get a Small Business Server (SBS) by Microsft. A full replacement is not available for Outlook. In addition, SBS is a not so expensive. Also, I would sometimes quickly XP SP2 and has not previously installed the IE8. This increases safety but clearly! So regarding this, whatever I know I have just explained you over here and I think that this will help you in order to get the proper solution for you issue.

The word "Apple" and "Server" I would not describe it in a sentence. With the administration has not much to do. And so you can then manage it all, really. I only say Group Policy, WSUS, OWA, etc. An Apple server is not even ran in the approach to a Windows server. So I have got this much information through one of my friend regarding this. So I hope this will help you. And related to this you have any doubt then you can ask me over here. I will try to explain you that in enhanced way.

With Apple you have the problem then the hardware is expensive because you just need all that of Apple. Look for a SBS server as well as with hardware, not the stuff from the supermarket. Or if you want it's really cheap then Linux. Apple is my opinion only in the multimedia area of interest. And with the cluster you can actually complete. So just go for this I am sure that you will get fix for this issue.

So I would advise you to a Win Server 2008 R2 Std. Since the SBS version is not scalable and it always should have the future in mind. As an Exchange alternative I can recommend you some best groupware solution with the Outlook you can continue to use it as until now. All in all you would be listed in the above version so at the 56k to 96k rs including the server hardware (which is only a rough estimate) are located. An Apple server only makes sense if you also Mac client is using in your nation! In addition, I must agree with reply of previous user, you should as soon as possible to make an update to SP3!
