Does Linux is also prone to hacks

You might not aware but Linux is today a growing operating system adopted by most of the companies. It is found that today Linux increases its market share of about 20-25%. This is best opted for the server platfom. Today most of the companies are running critical services such as mail servers, file storage and Web sites on Linux machines. These servers typically provide services to a large number of users and therefore need the best possible protection against viruses and malware. Now I had heard that inux is not 100% secure for virus. Does this is true. I found that Linux platform is much more secure than other operating system. What are the other things which proves Linux as a non secure environment.

First thing you must ensure that Linux is not a virus free. But thee numbers in virus attacks remain relatively small when compared to the various attacks against Windows and even other operating systems. There are several factors that explain this difference. One of which is not the least is that Linux is still rarely used as a commercial applications business. However, it is likely that opening the code that characterizes Linux and open source systems is a factor that can minimize flaws. It is not right to say that Linux is not completely not prone to attacks. In most cases, when a user implements a solution around the Linux operating system, it uses a Linux distribution and not just the kernel. So the point here is that when a application is crashed or under attack then there is no support services for the operating platform as it is a open source application. Other than this there are many suppliers who are prepared to provide security guarantees, in terms of patch management as they do for other operating systems, Windows and Unix environments. Using Linux is not in itself guarantee security. All environments need to be administered very properly if used globally. Bugs, viruses and other threats coming every day.

However, there is no problem related to security that shows that Linux is not ready for deployment at the enterprise level. The code base is managed by many distributors and enjoys the support of key IT suppliers. Linux security may be a myth, but it is also true for any other operating system. Linux does not yet play a major role in business applications. It is not right to say that Linux is not 100% slow. Linux is usable, relatively secure and enjoys all the support necessary to enable it to survive in business applications.
