At this time I think you will be able to access the Netgear wndr3700 distantly through the major router or access point but have no idea if any peripheral are able to run through the secondary access point. But if you are having a wireless setup , I think the device must be directly in the line of site of the access point or you will net be able to establish the network. You can also do the power cycle on the router.

You can follow the below set of instructions :

    • If you can access the address 192.168.1.20 from system using ethernet linked to the primary router then you can establish this feature
    • scrutinize your network so you recognize how both SSID is distributing the signals
    • If both the devices are at a decent distance away, you will be able to see the signal alteration as you go forward.

The above instructions will bring you the required solution.

I am very grateful for the valuable information you have provided . What I came to know that netgear wndr3700 repeater stops distribution of signals about 15-20 minutes - the signal just falls fully completely with no revival. I had to power cycle the router to get it to broadcast the signal again ; I observed the signals using inSSIDer – and also using the desktop and the laptop After a doing few more cycles you will get a steady signal .
