To solve your problem you just require ntfs-3g in ubuntu which you be supposed to already have, this is the one which be able to provide you read/write access to windows partitions, along with that you as well require the kernel mode file driver for windows, this is the one which will permit you read/write access to your Linux partitions.

Yeah first of all try permitting hidden files from explorer, which is supposed to permit you to observe them. As well test this out with a non Operating System related file, like an mp3 or text file, make sure that you have an extension on the file. Better still generate a FAT32 partition for shared files. Better still, keep your ubuntu files on your ubuntu partition, as well as install ext2fsd on Windows 7 which will give you right to use your ubuntu files

You be able to contain Ubuntu that will mount the Windows partition although not vice versa. You require installing the NTFS support tools in Ubuntu and after that utilize Disk Utility that you will found in the system settings. To generate a mount point this is the folder on your system for Windows. Once you are able to mount Windows after that you are able to move files from Windows to Ubuntu.
