Huawei E169 USB disconnects randomly

I have a Huawei E169 USB modem. My problem is that it will randomly disconnect and not just drop a connection. I do not get any error message and it appears as if I have unplugged my device from my computer. Sometimes it reconnects automatically, while other times it doesn't connect and I have to remove it and then reconnect it to use it once again. Is there any solution to this problem?

Have you tried a different USB port ? May be the problem is associated with your USB port. Sometime we do have such kind of problems with USB ports if you are having an old power supply which is unable to send enough power to the USB device. If possible, install a new PSU on your computer and then retry to connect your device. If this doesn't work than check if you the USB cable which connects your device with the computer is working properly and also there is no cuts in between the cable.

Is the modem only one USB device that you have connected to your computer or you have some more USB devices like a keyboard/mouse on your computer? Did you checked if they are working from the same port to which you have connected your Huawei E169 modem? I suppose this is a usb controller problem. Also check if you have necessary drivers installed on your computer. Sometimes the drivers gets corrupted due to which we are unable to use some devices. Uninstall the existing drivers, if any, and reinstall them once again.

It sometimes also occur if there is a buffer overload situation. In such cases the modem will simply stop working. Thus, to solve this problem, you have to first unplug the modem and then reconnect it. Now use your modem for another half an hour to make sure there is no such problem reappearing. If the problem still persists, then I think the problem is related to hardware, either with your modem itself or your computer. If possible connect this modem with another computer and see if you are able to use this modem.

I suppose your computer is turning off your computer that device may be because it is getting lesser power than what is required. To check and disable this settings, go to Start, Run and type devmgmt.msc in the text box. Press OK button to open up Device Manager. Now go to USB Root Hub properties/Power management to check the power management settings of your USB device. If the check box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is marked, then unmark it and click on OK button.
