Is MSE enough for my Windows 7
I am having Intel laptop and want to have security software on my system so that I will be prevented from spyware or virus. Currently I have Microsoft security essential installed for security. Is this is sufficient for security or I need to have any other security program. I spend very less time on Internet and email. Please provide your valuable suggestion. Thank you in Advance your effort will be appreciated.

Re: Is MSE enough for my Windows 7
I think Microsoft security essential is more than enough for your system security. If you have any other security software installed then first you need to completely uninstall it using uninstall tools .Download the Microsoft security essential and make sure that all other anti-malware security software are removed before installing Microsoft security essential. And see to it that your operating system is fully updated and Internet explorer smart screen is ON, Windows firewall is ON. As per my knowledge with Microsoft security essential you will be well protected.

Re: Is MSE enough for my Windows 7
Windows firewall will be enough but make sure that operating system and Microsoft security essential are up-to date and windows firewall is running. Hardware firewall is also a good thing but if you do not have it then you don't need to worry as this is not a big issue. Make sure that Action center under security is fine then you are protected and if you have any problem then Action center will inform you about it.

Re: Is MSE enough for my Windows 7
I am using windows xp service pack 2 and using Microsoft security essential for virus and spyware protection. Microsoft security essential provides basic protection for windows. I think that two way firewall should be provided with Microsoft security essential because this program has slow down my surfing speed. The other issue with Microsoft security essential is the scanning time. At my place it takes almost 2 -3 hours to do full scan. This is the only issue I have with Microsoft security essential. But this is the only program which is available freely.
