    D-Link Router:IP renew not working

I have HP computer with the Windows Vista operating system, also using the D-Link 617 router modem. Recently I renew my IP address; the problem is which is not working with the modem. Every time I got the “session time out”. With my old internet service provider (ISP), I easily got the static IP, and having no problem with the modem. But after switching to new ISP, it is not working. Anyone has any idea regarding with IP issue?

One of my friend having the same issue. He did a tics, which is as, just connect your machine directly to access the internet. Try to download and install the latest firmware for the D-Link 617 router modem. Upgrade the firmware properly and you found that the WAN light will be stays on. After that reconnect the internet, and the internet works. Before connecting, make sure that you typing the proper internet connection.

The IP renew is becomes necessary for everyone, do it manually. I think you not properly renew the IP address. For that simply right click on the computer icon in the desktop. Go through the resetting the IP address. Or you can also go to START then on RUN and type the command ipconfig /release or winipcfg /release in the command prompt, then hit on ENTER. The again type ipconfig /renew, then you will get the new IP from the modem.

Re: D-Link Router:IP renew not working

Relevant issue, my D-Link router, DWA-140, is not working well from the last 3 months. It sometimes drop the connection while connected in USB signal receiver, with a different router. It seems acts for the wired. When I tried to reconnect it stays for the 10-15 seconds, after that it drops automatically. I got the message “The destination doesn't exist”. I searched everywhere for the solution, but did not found anything. Any suggestion?

Make sure that your router is set to check the auto select of the channel and make sure that you are using the manual setting. You should also scan the different router or wifi whose utilities are using by your wireless router. For the better channel select the new channel. Test the signal of the network strength with all the country setting. Select at least 4 stops of the wireless strongest. Again locate the sender, network base from the router or the system.

I think you are not able to access the internet with the D-Link router, until the release of DHCP. By using the Comcast cable in the link area, try to internet service with the MAC address of the router. Then re-connect the old router, find the internet status, and click to release the DHCP. After log-in. Then disconnect it, and reconnect with the D-Link router. If it does not works, then connect the Comcast with the D-Link.

If you are not able to rewrite the IP address of the existing one, then you should first release the existing IP address of the machine. Then shut down the machine, and also unplug the USB modem (for a couple of minute). And then again replug the modem and after lighting the modem power light then you switch on the power button of the computer and found . It should detect the new IP address automatically. It will help you, I hope.
