    Loss of wireless connectivity Ubuntu 10.04

    I have a laptop with ubuntu 10.04, I have the card with the aol box wifi functioning properly at the beginning , now, that I removed the cable and my pc running on battery power, the wireless connection is cut reactivate. My Network Manager is installed by default. In Ubuntu and in Kubuntu It takes the form of an applet, a small icon. The applet takes different states depending of your connection ( connected / not connected, network thread area / network without thread, etc. . ). Please help.

    Some brands of wireless receivers have preferences on the channel used by the WiFi access point . Thus, even 2 or 3 meters from the modem , some brands will have an unstable connection . On the whole , we can then test a few channels 5 , 6, 7 , 10 , 11 or 12 . The centrinos (or more generally integrated receivers laptops lately ) work better on high channels : 10 or 11 . This is the case also marks Dlink , Netgear, Linksys ..

    Left clicking on the applet will display the available networks ( including networks without thread detected within range , if your computer is equipped with an adapter without thread enabled ). Select the network you want to connect.This menu also offers the opportunity to:
    * Establish a connection to a network without thread invisible ( which does not broadcast its existence) , when your computer is equipped with a transmitter -receiver of networks without thread ;
    * You of set a mobile broadband connection ban of ( cellular network [ 3G + , 3G , EDGE , EV -DO ] ), if your computer is connected to your mobile phone ( GSM) or a key provided by your mobile provider to the Internet;
    * You of set of virtual private network connections (VPN) To accelofr to your corporate network ofthen your computer at home or ofthen your laptop when you travel.

    You got a small icon in the upper right near the clock display , you click with the right mouse button (mouse right handed of course) , and normally it will show you all the networks range.

    1. When you click right, ensure Enable network enabled, if it is not the case , you click the right button and then you click the left mouse button to activate it.

    2. If nothing appears, it's because the drivers for your pc do not detect any connection, in this case it will have to cope differently.
