MSE should include Pause button to Suspend Scanning

I have a Windows 7 system. It is taking very long hours to scan my C drive which is around 140GB. I had kept the same on scanning for a long time but nothing works there anymore. There is no pause button there so that I can stop and continue later on. I need some help to deal with trojan viruses. I got some infection from a usb and as I use this frequenty the virus is going to enter my system. How can I manually avoid them.

That is right the tool Microsoft Security Essentail does not has a pause button due to which you cannot halt the same in between while scanning. You have to terminate the scan or start all the again back later. Trojan enters your system very common from internet. That is the most easy way for them. So keep your firewall on and do not download any suspicious file.

If they are looking for a focused steps to eliminates trojan then you might need to completely replace the operating system to get rid of these trojan. That means a clear format for your system can make the system work well. I will advice you to use some better and the most lastest antivirus program in your system. There are lots of internet security suite available.

The one file where the trojan targets is config.sys. This file can also be displayed with sysedit. Config.sys, autoexec.bat is started well before all the system files and drivers are loaded. There is one in 10 chance that the Trojans are using this medium. Certainly, because the boot has not been loaded yet, and they are not able to load as a standalone program. So you must check this file for virus.

I will not say Microsoft Security Essential is a full solution for your problem. It is a basic free antivirus provided for your system and you can enjoy till you cannot manage any other security sutie. The system.ini file can also be edited with sysedit. Find the line where and starts Shell =. In this line of Trojans can be started. They add there own enteries there and work in your system.

I am aware about a issue in my case where Microsoft Security Essential detected a trojan. I had found problem in win.ini file. This file is the last, which may also be displayed with sysedit. The probability of finding by a Trojan, is already slightly higher. Find the line that begins with Run = or load =. Hence, a Trojan can be started, but each entry is not necessarily such a call.

The most core file which is corrupted System registry file. This windows core file hwere 99% of the trojan attack. They use this method to load automatically. The reason is relatively simple: the register is almost uncontrollable for the layman and offers the greatest opportunities for camouflage. So you must keep a backup of your registry and restore the same after a virus scan.
